Job Description:
Role Purpose:
The Test Engineer role is vital in preparing test cases and conducting testing for the product/platform/solution to be deployed at a client’s end. The primary objective is to ensure that the product meets 100% quality assurance parameters.
Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning and Implementation
- Understand test requirements and design test cases for the product.
- Author test plans based on business requirements and testable criteria.
- Implement Wipro’s testing methodology using model-based testing for efficient test case generation.
- Ensure peer review of test cases to minimize rework.
- Collaborate with the development team to identify and capture test cases and maintain version control.
- Define testing criteria, parameters, scope, and out-of-scope items, including involvement in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Automate the test life cycle process using tools like VB macros, scheduling, and GUI automation.
2. Automation Framework and Reporting
- Design and execute automation frameworks.
- Develop and automate tests for software validation, including setting up test environments, designing test plans, creating test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing them.
- Ensure accurate reporting of test defects with clear descriptions and replication patterns.
- Identify and report bug issues and track test progress.
- Aim for zero rejection/slippage of delivered work items, adhering to Wipro and Customer SLAs.
- Create and release timely test status dashboards at the end of each test execution cycle.
- Provide feedback on usability, serviceability, and quality risks to relevant stakeholders.
3. Status Reporting and Customer Focus
- Maintain high-quality interactions with customers through various communication channels.
- Ensure on-time deliveries of reports, including Work Status Reports (WSRs) and test execution reports.
- Update accurate effort data in project-related trackers.
- Respond promptly to customer requests and address any complaints internally or externally.

- Software Developers: Coordination and support in providing testing solutions.
